Laser Therapy Care
Pre-Care
-
Avoid sun exposure, self tanning and self tanner (spray tan) for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
-
Shave the area to be treated 24 hours prior to your appointment.
-
Avoid makeup, deodorant or lotion on the area being treated that day.
-
Avoid waxing and tweezing for 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
-
Notify your technician if you are pregnant or have any changes in your medication.
-
Avoid using any prescription topicals such as Retinoids or irritating active substances such as alpha-hydroxy acids, or any other chemical exfoliants 1 week to the area being treated.
Post-Care
-
Avoid direct sun exposure and self tanning for 2 weeks to the area that was treated. Apply sunscreen (SPF 30) to the area if it will be exposed to the sun.
-
There may be redness or swelling around the treated area. This may last only a few hours. Apply cold compress if needed.
-
Do not pick or scratch the area being treated as this may cause irritation and hyperpigmentation.
-
Cleanse the area with tepid warm water. Avoid extremities of heat such as hot showers, hot tubs, saunas and physical activities for 72 hours after treatment.
-
Do not tweeze or wax in between sessions, as this will result in throwing your hair cycles off track. Shaving is recommended in-between sessions as needed.
-
Exfoliate treated areas to minimize risk of ingrown hairs.
-
Allow a minimum of 7-14 days post treatment of the follicle to “fall out” and shed.
-
To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your technician.
